Jesper Grodal has served on the board since 2020. He is professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences. He got his PhD from MIT in 2000, and spent 2000-2006 at Univ. Chicago, IAS-Princeton, and Paris, before joining UCPH as a professor in 2006. He has also subsequently held visiting positions in France, Germany, UK, and US. One aspect of the job he particularly cherishes, apart from research and lecturing, is mentoring PhD students and postdocs, helping advance the next generation. He has fought for a better UCPH for years, and together with Eske Willerslev started Involve the Researchers! in 2019, as a reaction to questionable leadership decisions. He was, together with Willerslev, elected to the UCPH Governing Board (Bestyrelsen) in 2020.

Pia Quist has served on the board since 2021. She is a professor of sociolinguistics at the Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics. She has over the course of her career also been associated with several international universities, including Stanford University, Osaka University (Japan) and University of Bergen (Norway). She has been engaged in improving UCPH for years, and has made a point of stressing the importance of time for reflection, when it comes to delivering high quality research and teaching  She replaced Eske Willerslev on the UCPH Governing Board (Bestyrelsen) in 2021.

Nanna MacAulay holds a 2002 PhD in Medicine and is a professor at the Department of Neuroscience. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019. She is 1st suppleant for the 2024-2027 board.


Claus Thustrup Kreiner holds a 1998 PhD in Economics, and is professor at the Department of Economics, and director of the research center CEBI. His main research area is Public Economics. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019. He is 2nd suppleant for the 2024-2027 board.

Gemma Solomon received her PhD in Chemistry from The University of Sydney, Australia, in 2007, and is Professor of theoretical chemistry at the Nano-Science Center and the Department of Chemistry as well as the Scientific Director for Algorithms and Applications and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme, Niels Bohr Institute. She is 3rd suppleant for the 2024-2027 board.

Randi Starrfelt holds a 2008 PhD in psychology, and is a professor at the Department of Psychology. Her research is in neuropsychology, e.g., faceblindness. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Hans Wandall holds a 2004 PhD in Medicine. He is professor at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. His research area is in Glycomics. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Stine Helene Falsig Pedersen holds a 1998 PhD in Biology. She is a professor at the Department of Biology, and her research is in Cell Biology and Physiology. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Michael Broberg Palmgren holds a 1990 PhD in Plant Biochemistry from University of Lund. He is a professor at Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, and studies biological pumps found in plants. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Janus Mortensen holds a 2011 PhD in Linguistics. He is professor and director of the Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use. His research includes social and linguistic norms and language policy. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Morten Rievers Heiberg holds a 2002 PhD in Romance. He is a professor at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies. His main research area is Spanish History, International History, International Relations. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Timo Minssen holds a 2012 Jur.Dr. from University of Lund. He is professor and director of the research center CeBIL. His main focus of research is in legal aspects of biomedical innovation and public health. Active in Involve the Researchers! since 2019.

Rebecca Adler-Nissen holds a PhD in political science from 2009, and is a professor at the Department of Political Science.

Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen holds a PhD in law from Aarhus University, at is Professor of migration and director of MOBILE, the Danish National Research Foundation's Center of Excellence.

Eline Lorenzen holds a 2009 PhD in biology, and is professor at the Section for Molecular Ecology and Evolution, Globe Institute.


Petrine Wellendorph holds a 2006 PhD in pharmacology, and is professor of molecular and cellular pharmacology at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology.

Henrik Vigh holds a 2003 PhD in social anthropology, and is professor at Department of Anthropology.
